The duration of the programme leading to B.Tech.degree is four years. The curricula for the different degree programmes as proposed by the respective departments and recommended by the Departmental Undergraduate Programme Committee (DUPC) shall have theapproval of the Senate.

The minimum eligibility criterion for admission to MBA is Bachelor degree in any branch of engineering/science/humanities etc. with 50% marks or 5.5 CGPA and valid CAT/MAT/CMAT scores.

Normally for M.Tech., first two semesters have theory and practical (laboratory) subjects while for MSc/MBA, theory courses are taught in all the semesters.

However, the admission is offered twice in a year, during December-January and July-August sessions only. After completing all requirements, the Board of Governors of NIT Silchar awards the degree on recommendation of the Senate.
